The pastor will foster a welcoming and appreciative atmosphere where members and visitors alike feel comfortable and confident participating in their individual calling to God’s ministry at and through SPC. The pastor will be active in the community to communicate and share the vision of SPC and to help enable the congregation to “live” out its mission.

Someone who will be a warm, welcoming, social and compassionate person who is committed to building relationships with the members of the Church and who will be available to care for and comfort hurting and grieving members or to counsel them through the seasons of life is the candidate we're looking for.

They will be an articulate preacher who speaks effectively and bases sermons on scripture and its application to everyday life.

They will be a teacher who will inspire members and visitors toward spiritual growth and mature discipleship.

They will be well-grounded in theology and strongly connected to the PC(USA).

They will be a skilled servant leader with the confidence and skills to guide staff, Church leaders and the congregation to meet Church goals.

They will feel comfortable being visible in the community as an advocate for SPC.

They will bring energy and renewal that would result in growth, especially among younger worshipers.

As an integral member of the SPC community, the pastor will have and share opinions and effectively and confidently articulate them in casual and formal settings. The pastor will be a passionate advocate of the mission of SPC while practicing the humility of one who understands that all good word and deed is of God.
